The North Face announces that it has introduced The Summit Series Advanced Mountain Kit, a breathable, packable, warm and lightweight layering system, according to a recent news release. Based on input from elite athletes, designers and other innovators, North Face set out to create clothing and gear specific to alpine expeditions, the company stated.

The layering system includes 21 products designed to work harmoniously. The North Face is including in the kit its recent FUTURELIGHT fabric technology, alongside four new, proprietary technology and construction technologies involving down, fleece, and waterproof membranes for base layers, parkas, pants, hoodies, mitts and gloves. Accompanying the apparel are tents, bags and packs as well as footwear, including boots, gaitors and down booties.

On May 4, 2020, the company expects the pieces in the Advanced Mountain Kit to be available for purchase through specialty dealers and The North Face website.

The North Face, a division of VF Outdoor LLC, was founded in 1966 with the goal of preparing outdoor athletes for the rigors of their next adventure.
