As IFAI has evolved and become Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), and the Advanced Textiles Products division changed its name to Emerging Technologies Division (ETD), the name for this publication will also change to Textile Technology Source. A decision was made following discussion among ATA’s editorial team and ETD to make the distinction among entities and their purposes clearer. The new name will be live Sept. 28, and the existing website will redirect visitors to its new site for some time into the future.
Advanced Textiles Source was established in 2014 to better represent the growing markets for advanced technologies in the textile industry, particularly in protective, medical, aerospace, smart materials, thermal control, energy harvesting and other segments. These market areas were previously covered in a section of Specialty Fabrics Review under the name “Creating the Future of Textiles,” which ran from 2010 until ATS’s launch. Janet Preus has been editor of the publication since its founding.
