Mitsufuji Corp., a company that develops and sells wearable products, has launched the Hamon AG mask, a high-performance mask that can be washed in any home washing machine up to 50 times, and reused repeatedly.

A report on designboom.com says that the product is made from medical fibers developed for wearables and uses the silver-plated fiber AGposs®, a proprietary technology that provides antibacterial and deodorant functions. The entire garment is a three-dimensional silhouette; the part that hooks over the wearer’s ears is made of the same fabric as the main body, so there is no elastic cord.

The mask was developed in response to a shortage of hygiene masks due to the spread of the coronavirus. Mitsufuji plans to manufacture 50,000 masks a month at its own factory in Kawamata-Machi, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
