BeBop Sensors announces the Forte Data Glove, a virtual reality (VR) haptic glove designed to provide users realistic experiences when touching a table or robot as well as a piece of velvet or a person’s face.

The new glove is integrated and designed for Oculus Quest, Oculus Link, Oculus Rift S, Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality, HTC Vive Cosmos, HTC Vive Pro, HTC Focus Plus, and Varjo VR headset technology, a recent news release says. According to the company, The Forte Data Glove is the first haptic glove for the HTC Cosmos and Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality Headsets and the first haptic VR glove to fully support Oculus Quest Link.

The company reports that the Forte Data Glove provides portable, all-day wireless capability for missing touch feedback for training for business and enhanced VR gaming experiences. The new haptic gloves are designed to provide hand and finger tracking and haptic feelings for hitting buttons, turning knobs and opening doors, for example, in the VR and augmented reality (AR) realms. They are made of cleanable and breathable fabrics equipped with waterproof sensors, the company reports.

Applications are expected to include VR enterprise training, VR medical trials/rehabilitation, robotics and drone control, VR CAD design and review, and gaming.

BeBop Sensors uses smart fabrics to create sensor solutions for OEMs.
