New president of Southern Textile Association named

Matt Shannon of Greenwood Mills, Greenwood, S.C., will become the next president of the Southern Textile Association (STA), after Andrew Barker of Matrix Yarns, Charlotte, N.C., finishes the remaining days of his yearlong presidency. The change in leadership will happen at the 111th annual STA meeting, July 22-24 at Hilton Head Island, S.C. Among the STA’s business meeting agenda, will be the leadership changes and awards presentation, where their contribution and dedication to STA and the industry will be recognized.

The Southern Textile Association Inc. has more than 500 members spanning the Southern U.S.  textile industry. It includes yarn spinners; fabric finishers; and fiber, machinery and parts suppliers. Their goal is to bring together knowledge, experience and personnel relations to benefit members and the textile industry.
