Helly Hansen and Myant create smart textiles

What's New? | July 3, 2019 | By:

Helly Hansen’s owner, retail group Canadian Tire, announced a partnership with textile computing company Myant to incorporate smart textile solutions, a recent Sportstextiles.com article says.

The solutions are based on Myant’s SKIIN Textile Computing platform, which integrates biometric sensors, heat generation technology and electroluminescence into clothing. The goal is to produce apparel and footwear that can record performance and health information, keep wearers warm and/or help them to be more visible at night. Canadian Tire is planning to apply these technologies to its Mark’s brand workwear and to Helly Hansen and Woods brands outdoor apparel to achieve greater safety, health and performance for customers.
