Orchard acquires Silk City Fibers

Orchard Yarn and Thread Co. Inc. is announces the purchase of Silk City Fibers. Both companies are based in Carlstadt N.J. Silk City offers yarns for weaving, knitting, embroidery and crochet, offering over 2000 colors in 50 luxury and natural fiber yarn styles.

David Blumenthal, president and CEO of Orchard Yarn said, “This acquisition provides a major growth opportunity, allowing Orchard Yarn to expand its service to the fiber arts community, broadening the scope of products offered with the aid of the Silk City Fibers team.”

Silk City Fibers will continue to operate independently, and their customers and suppliers can expect the same service and commitment.

Orchard Yarn and Thread Company also owns and operates the Lion Brand Yarn Company. This acquisition serves the long-term interests of all three companies, as the expanded yarn portfolio will help strengthen relationships with existing customers and future buyers.
