Evolon product receives ECARF seal

Industry News, News | October 17, 2018 | By:

Freudenberg’s Evolon New Generation has been awarded the European seal of quality from the independent European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF). The seal aims to help people with allergies select appropriate goods and services.

The new Evolon anti-mite fabric meets the testing criteria for filtration performance and sleeping comfort. Made from super-microfilaments that are half the thickness and twice the density of those used in the original Evolon, New Generation increases its filtration performance significantly, the company reports.

The fabric can be used in the manufacture of anti-mite encasings to help allergy sufferers. The company says it provides a solution to make feather-filled pillows and quilts, filtering tiny allergens and dust particles while retaining a “luxury feel.”

The product has also been granted the OEKO-TEX mark that certifies it is free of harmful substances and suitable for contact with young children’s skin.

Freudenberg Performance Materials is a global manufacturer of technical textiles for a broad range of markets and applications, such as apparel, automotive, building interiors, construction, energy, hygiene, medical, and shoe and leather goods, as well as specialties.
