Industry News, News | September 24, 2018 | By:

Westex® by Milliken announces that the company has won a 2018 Readers’ Choice Award for best protective fabrics, presented by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine. Nearly 1,200 Canadian industry professionals voted in the awards program, in which the company was chosen as one of the top three out of 13 companies vying for the best protective fabrics category.

“This esteemed recognition reaffirms our commitment to bringing innovative FR apparel to market, enabling our customers to focus on their specific tasks at hand,” said Steve Layton, vice president.

Westex by Milliken has a portfolio of more than 60 styles of AR/FR fabrics for effective personal protective equipment. Their fabrics uniquely combine market-proven FR protection with stretch, breathability, moisture wicking and other comfort qualities. All Westex-branded fabrics pass rigorous third-party certifications as supporting evidence for performance.

This marks the third award given to the company in 2018. Earlier this year, the company also won EC&M magazine Product of the Year for safety equipment and workwear, and ISHN magazine’s Readers’ Choice for arc flash/flame resistant apparel.

Garments made with the brand’s FR fabrics are in service globally in the utility, electrical maintenance, oil and gas, and metals industries.
