Pvilion collaborates on solar-powered bags

Industry News | June 18, 2018 | By:

Pvilion announces that it has recently launched , a new solar-powered tote and clutch, its second collaboration with the Tommy Hilfiger brand. The removable solar clutch allows easy access to mobile charging, incorporating a battery and a USB port to power a mobile phone.

The tote showcases a front panel design with star-shaped cutout, allowing sunlight to charge the battery hidden within. Pvilion’s solar cell texture is reported to match the tote’s Saffiano leather, rendering a seamless appearance.

Pvilion CEO Colin Touhey exhibited the company’s dedication to solar-powered fabrics with his presentation titled Wired Skins: An Exploration Into Solar-Powered Fabric at this year’s WEAR 2018 Conference in New York City in June at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The presentation discussed how the introduction of solar-powered fabrics allows under-utilized real estate, on the body and in the world, to increase functionality and add value to organizations, individuals and governments.

Pvilion designs and manufactures flexible photovoltaic solar structures and products, ranging from solar-powered charging stations to solar-powered curtains, building facades and clothing.
