New Brooks shoe built on biomechanics

Brooks Running Company has announced that the company’s first personalized running shoe, the Brooks Genesys, will be available in the U.S. in early 2019 and globally soon after the U.S. launch.

The shoe is created based on an individual’s biomechanics captured by HP Inc. FitStation technology, which gathers data from 3D foot scans, dynamic gait analysis and foot pressure measurements to create a digital profile of the individual.

Brooks combines the profile with the company’s Run Signature principles, working with the runner’s natural motion path, with the goal of enhancing comfort and improving performance. The resulting data is translated into specific fit and feel requirements for each shoe and assembled using a DESMA polyurethane injection-molding machine.

The company will launch the shoe in the U.S. with 1,914 limited-edition pairs that will be available via special order through select retail partners.

Brooks Running Company sells its performance footwear, apparel, sports bras and accessories in more than 50 countries worldwide.
