Teijin introduces Coolnex Stretch for FR garments

What's New? | May 11, 2018 | By:

Teijin Aramid has announced the introduction of Teijinconex Coolnex Stretch, a single-layer, high-performance textile that aims to combine flame resistance with built-in stretch and recovery. The fabric is engineered with Solotex stretch technology, a patented fiber solution engineered by Teijin Frontier Co. Ltd. Originally developed for casual wear, Teijin’s textile engineers have now applied it to flame-retardant (FR) protective clothing.

The company points out that if FR garments are not comfortable, workers won’t be able to do their jobs properly and personal safety could be at risk. As an answer to that dilemma, Coolnex Stretch was designed to retain stretch and performance over time.

The product is now available in Japan and has recently been introduced in the EMEA region.

Teijin Aramid is a subsidiary of the Teijin Group and the producer of aramid products Twaron, Teijinconex, Technora and its ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) Endumax.
