Adidas’ base layer Alphaskin introduced

What's New? | February 2, 2018 | By:

Sportswear company adidas has launched Alphaskin, a base layer that moves with “the critical areas of athletes in motion.” The product was developed on the ARAMIS (Augmented Reality Application for Maintenance, Inventory and Stowage) motion-capture system, which analyzes strain and tension and is used by NASA on its Space Shuttle.

Rob Lee, vice-president of design for adidas training, says, “Alphaskin was made to enable and move with athletes’ bodies while they compete or train and help eliminate the unwanted distractions of base layers from the past.”

Alphaskin offers kinetic wrapping in a range of compression levels: Alphaskin 360, the highest compression, made using flat, bonded reflective seams; Alphaskin Tech, mid-level compression featuring Climachill technology; and Alphaskin Sport, light compression with Climacool technology.
