Teijin Frontier’s new knitting material was on exhibit at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2018.

The company says the new knit material has a glossy, translucent appearance and is “thin, lightweight and compact, as well as stretchable, form stable and moisture permeable.”

Other materials meant for high-performance sportswear include a newly developed Deltapeak sweat suit fabric, a bulky, lightweight material fabricated with a four-dimensional structure; the Octa line, which has a highly modified cross-section with eight projections aligned around a hollow fiber, to provide rapid wicking and drying and useful bulkiness; and Solotex polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber, a stretchable and shape-retaining material that is partially bio-derived, the company states.

Teijin Frontier initiatives were also featured: Think Eco promotes environmentally friendly solutions, such as reducing the use of hazardous chemicals; and the company’s “initiatives to protect the human rights of its technical interns from overseas, in keeping with international trends.”
