Coats acquires Patrick Yarn Mill

Thread manufacturer Coats reports that the company has expanded its high technology and engineered performance portfolios with the acquisition of Patrick Yarn Mill.

Patrick Yarn Mill specializes in cut-resistant, heat-resistant and filtration yarns. Under its EarthSpun trademark, the North Carolina mill produces yarns from recycled fibers. Patric Yarn also uses energy from its solar installation and markets products as Spun by the Sun.

Founded in 1963, Patrick Yarn Mill has 150 employees, and in 2016, its annual sales were $36.5 million. Coats has locations in 60 countries and employs 19,000 people across six continents.
