Stretchable, translucent laminated knits developed by Teijin

What's New? | December 8, 2017 | By:

Teijin Frontier, the Teijin Group’s fiber-product converting company, has developed a fine-gauge knitted fabric laminated with a breathable film designed for multi-use textiles. The company says that new dyeing and lamination technologies were used to develop the fabric, which is made with non-crimped yarn.

The company says the material is thin, lightweight and compact; stretchable, form-stable and moisture-permeable; and it has a glossy, translucent appearance.

Teijin Frontier is now exploring sport and fashion marketing opportunities for two versions of its new material: a high-function textile using Pasmo high-tenacity polyester and an eco-friendly version incorporating recycled polyester.

The company will sell its new material primarily for spring/summer 2019 sportswear.
