Teijin Aramid introduces new armoring material

What's New? | November 20, 2017 | By:

Teijin’s new Endumax Shield XF33 is an ultra-high-molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) designed to increase performance-to-weight ratio for body armor and weight-sensitive vehicles and vessels armoring. The new product can be used for hard body armor plates and helmets and rigid panels for vehicles and sea vessels.

Teijin Aramid reports that because of the structural nature of the material, even with low processing pressures, the use of Endumax Shield XF33 enables easier processing of larger panels with minimum or no seams for vehicle and maritime protection. The results may include minimizing potentially vulnerable joints, increasing design freedom for panel cuts and making the solution more cost-efficient.

Teijin Aramid, a subsidiary of the Teijin Group, creates products including Twaron, Sulfron, Teijinconex, Technora and Endumax.
