SALTEX 2018 announces focus on smart textiles and HPMs

Industry News | November 8, 2017 | By:

The premiere SALTEX event, held in October 2017, included 63 exhibitors and around 900 trade visitors from 13 countries, and preparations for the second SALTEX event are underway. The next event will take place Sept. 12–13, 2018, in Austria and will focus on smart textiles and high-performance materials (HPMs).

In a press release provided by SALTEX, it notes the benefits of innovations in smart textiles to the structural engineering, mobility, medicine, and the sports and lifestyle sectors. Discussion at the event will also include how HPMs are used in construction and energy technology, the food industry, motor vehicle manufacturing, and workplace health and safety.

SALTEX is regarded as a platform that enables other industries to benefit from the modern textile industry’s opportunities and connections. The event hopes to act as a catalyst for making more global connections among textile companies and the plastics and toolmaking industries, as well as the automation and electrical engineering sectors.

The next international fiber congress, Dornbirn-GFC (formerly Dornbirn MFC), is expected to run concurrent with the 2018 SALTEX event.
