Fourteen years after the release of the first online positive list of safe chemicals, Swiss textile specialists bluesign technologies has launched the latest generation of the bluesign® bluefinder. This patented platform has already amassed more than 7,500 “bluesign approved” chemicals.
Chemicals in the bluesign bluefinder originate from the most sustainably acting chemical companies in the world. To get a chemical certified, a company has to undergo a bluesign audit followed by a corrective action plan to fulfill bluesign criteria for production sites. Certification is awarded after implementation of necessary steps.
Developed in 2001, the bluesign bluetool offers a comprehensive and safe instrument to fulfill consumer safety aspects as well as reduce environmental impact. The precautionary system contains more than 680 banned chemical substances and all end-of-pipe aspects relevant for the textile and related industry are completely covered.
