IFAI Japan seminar to be offered at Expo 2016 in October

A Japan Technical Seminar will be offered at IFAI Expo 2016 in Charlotte, N.C., on October 18 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. to introduce attendees to Japan’s advanced textile technologies, markets and products. Mr. Tamon Akiba, Japan Chemical Fiber Assoc. and Toray Industries Inc., will speak on “The Future of Japanese high-functional and performance fibers. His talk will cover the key points about the history of the chemical fiber industry and the strength of this industry in Japan. He will offer case studies on high-performance and high-functional fibers, as well as futuristic advanced products.

Ms. Hanako Ogawa, Chukoh Chemical Industries Ltd., will speak on the topic, “Learning from natural disasters: The safety of lightweight membrane materials. Japan has suffered damages in several natural disasters, including the earthquake in East Japan in 2011. The presentation will speak to the issue of public facilities withstanding natural disasters and will discuss advanced textile products for architectural applications.

Japan package registration price also includes the Keynote lunch on Tuesday and access to the show floor.
