Lectra opens Vietnam subsidiary

Textile innovator Lectra has opened its Hanoi, Vietnam, subsidiary—Lectra Vietnam—effective July 1. The Paris-based company, which focuses on technology solutions for industries using fabrics, leather, technical textiles and composite materials, has been a presence in Vietnam for more than 20 years and was represented by its agent, Ly Sinh Cong Trading Service Company, for the past 12 years. The new subsidiary will take over Ly Sinh Cong’s team and assets.

The apparel industry is especially vibrant in Vietnam, the company noted in a press release. Clothing exports reached $21 billion in 2014 and are expected to grow by 8 percent, attaining $29.5 billion this year.

Lectra’s integrated technology solutions (software, automated cutting equipment and associated services) are specifically designed for industries using fabrics, leather, technical textiles and composite materials to manufacture their products. It serves major world markets in fashion and apparel, automotive and furniture, as well as an array of other industries.
