QualityControl 009IFAI will be featuring a three-part testing program at Expo in Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 18-21, 2016. Two certificate options will be offered, as well as demonstrations by testing experts on the show floor.

The Advanced Textiles Conference Track runs all day Oct. 18 and Oct. 19 in the morning. Participants will be able to improve their decision-making skills based on textile properties and to better understand the methodology and interpretation of standard texting procedures. Presenters will be experts from the industry and the North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Textiles.

Attendees have the option of earning a Textile Testing Essentials Certificate by adding lab time on the show floor. This certificate can be used toward NCSU’s Textile Technology Certificate Program.

NCSU will also offer an Intro to Testing Certificate in two morning time slots: Oct. 19 and 20. Attendees can earn this certificate by attending one of the two classroom sessions and adding lab time on the show floor. The seminar will teach the basics of textile testing to help participants better inform customers and promote their products. Topics will include how to:

  • Understand textile test methods and if they apply to your product.
  • Recognize the difference between standard and non-standard testing
  • Identify performance specifications and how they can help define your product
  • Identify resources for your textile testing questions

The Testing Demo Zone will be available for attendees to interact with testing experts through live and video demonstrations on the show floor. Participants include the NCSU College of Textiles; Advanced Testing Instruments; FITI Testing and Research Institute; Hohenstein Institute; Instron; Manufacturing Solutions Center; Netzach; Product Investigations; Textile Technology Center/Gaston College; Thermetrics, Weber & Leucht and others.
