Damel bows auto-inflatable water-safety wear

What's New? | May 18, 2016 | By:

Portuguese textile developer Damel has introduced SeaB2, a maritime clothing system with integrated inflation, and has submitted patent applications for the product in the United States, the European Union and Dubai.

SeaB2 is used as a part of regular clothing (jacket, overalls or vest) and is unnoticeable. The inflation system is activated automatically upon hitting water and allows a lifejacket user to swim and access the nearest vessel or platform.

Resistant to tearing and perforation, the materials used in SeaB2 are waterproof and heat-insulated, and also protect against fire and against electric arc discharge. A built-in harness and lifeline also allows for helicopter rescue at sea.
