Sciessent expands bluesign partnership with CURB

Sciessent, Wakefield, Mass.-based provider of antimicrobial and odor-absorption solutions for the textile and apparel industries, has announced its partnership with bluesign® systems for the fluorocarbon-free durable water repellent CURB, which joins Sciessent’s odor-absorbing Lava technology among bluesign-approved products.

According to the company, CURB provides enhanced, breathable protection from rain and moisture, delivering the same water-repellent performance as existing technologies without the use of harmful fluorocarbons. Similar to other DWR treatments, CURB gives textiles a functional finish that adds water-shedding properties to outerwear, causing droplets to bead and roll off the surface while maintaining permeability to air and water vapor.

Sciessent’s customized antimicrobial solutions are used in the healthcare, industrial and consumer markets.
