Americhem names trio to global nonwovens team

Americhem Inc., provider of color and additive solutions for synthetic fibers, has added three members to its worldwide nonwovens team.

Kam Lui, who has more than 20 years of technical experience in polymer processing, will serve as development specialist for nonwovens at the company’s Dalton, Ga., plant. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from SUNY in Buffalo, N.Y., and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Northwestern University.

Greg Kern, also based in Dalton, is account manager for nonwovens. He most recently served as market development and account manager with OMNOVA Solutions. Greg also worked for Shell Chemical Co. in sales and product development for PET and PTT polyester polymers and earned a chemical engineering degree from Purdue University.

In Europe, Peter Puchalla has joined the company as leader of the films and nonwovens market. He previously worked for Sukano AG and Clariant; he holds a dual degree in industrial engineering and business management from Germany’s University of Applied Science FH Nordakademie.

Americhem has also built high-speed spinning lines at its Concord, N.C., and Dalton plants.

Based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Americhem specializes in color and additive masterbatches, and single-pigment dispersions
