Coolcore wins patent, innovation award

What's New? | December 30, 2015 | By:

Portsmouth, N.H.-based specialty fabrics developer Coolcore has been awarded a U.S. patent for its invention that includes wetting an item, wringing out excess liquid, and snapping or waving the fabric to activate the moisture control through the fabric. The invention is for a fabric that becomes cool when activated by liquid and remains cool for an extended period of time thereafter.

The thermo-regulation fabrics company also was presented an ITMA Future Materials Award for Best Innovation—Sports and Outdoor Apparel for its line of cooling fabrics.

Coolcore’s chemical-free materials deliver three functions—wicking, moisture circulation and regulated evaporation—by managing thermo-regulation and reducing surface fabric temperature up to 30 percent lower than skin temp when moisture is present.
