bluesign introduces productivity calculator blueXpert

EcoNote | November 27, 2015 | By:

bluesign Technologies SA, St. Gallen, Switzerland-based developer of sustainable textile manufacturing, has introduced the blueXpert “productivity calculator.”

In a press release, bluesign says the web-based application will enable textile manufacturers to save resources, time and costs while also reducing the impact on the environment. Conditions existing in the textile factory as well as the specific chemicals and materials used will be considered, and will be compared to BAT (Best Available Technique) processes.

The benchmarks show savings and environmental impact immediately and give a well-grounded basis for decision making. The use of intelligent processes and smart chemistry will reduce the consumption of water by 50 percent, energy by 30 percent and chemicals by 15 percent.

The bluesign® system eliminates harmful substances from the beginning of the manufacturing process and sets and controls standards for an environmentally friendly and safe production.
