Thule Adventure Team chooses TeXtreme for kayaks

Industry News | September 28, 2015 | By:

Sponsored by equipment-transit specialist Thule of Malmo, Sweden, the multisport Thule Adventure Team is now using kayaks reinforced by TeXtreme®.

TeXtreme, based in Boras, Sweden, specializes in carbon-fiber spread tow reinforcements for ultralight sports equipment. The Thule Adventure Team races K1 kayaks; “K1” designates a boat for a single racer.

TeXtreme carbon-fiber material is based on using spread tows instead of yarns to achieve materials that are used to produce ultra-lightweight and high-performance products. TeXtreme claims better properties on weight, stiffness, strength, and other properties compared to those using other conventional carbon-fiber materials.

The Thule Adventure Team holds two Adventure Racing World Championship titles. Multisport is an endurance sport with emphasis on orienteering, mountain biking, kayaking and running in different environments and distances.

TeXtreme is also used in Formula 1 racing, America’s Cup yacht racing, NASCAR, Le Mans, ice hockey, bicycling, tennis and surfing, as well as aerospace and industrial applications.
