Textile chemicals guide available

With more customers wanting to know what is in their textile products, and chemical regulations for products becoming more stringent, ChemSec saw the need to provide a guide.

The non-profit International Chemical Secretariat in Goteborg, Sweden, is offering the ChemSec Textile Guide to show companies how they can identify problematic chemicals in their production and finished garments—and how to eliminate them.

The guide is free, no registration is required, and users may remain anonymous. At the core of the guide is a searchable database, a “Google for chemicals,” with information on more than 6,500 chemicals. The list is based on U.S. and European Union legislation, as well as several Restricted Substances Lists of multinational brands and textile trade organizations.
