JK Group acquires Sawgrass Industrial

Charleston, S.C.-based sublimation and pigment-ink specialist Sawgrass Industrial, the business division of Sawgrass Technologies, is joining the JK Group to extend the group’s technology capabilities. JK Group brands include Kiian Digital and J-Teck.

Sawgrass Industrial makes high-end digital sublimation and water-based pigment inks featuring the SubliM and M-Inks brands. Its main applications are fashion, sportswear and home décor, and allow for the mass customization of digital products for printing onto plastic, metal, films ceramics and textiles.

The acquisition enlarges JK Group’s portfolio of advanced inks, which are compatible with a wide variety of digital print heads including plotters and high-speed machines. The JK Group will maintain its focus on high quality industry standards and on driving market expansion internationally.

Sawgrass Europe CEO Mickael Mheidle, who has led the Sawgrass Industrial division since 2009, will continue to manage the commercial efforts of the Sawgrass Industrial brands in Europe. Sawgrass Technologies will continue to operate as an independent company serving the needs of digital printing applications on printers less than 42 inches addressing non-industrial customer needs. Sawgrass also has offices in Basel, Switzerland, and Sheffield, England.
