INVISTA and workout attire for the workplace

Industry News | July 7, 2015 | By:

As activewear becomes more common in the workplace, Wichita, Kan.-based fiber maker INVISTA has joined emerging designers to explore the fashion potential of outdoor wear. Based on consumer insights, and with help from fashion tech startup Manufacture New York (MNY), INVISTA combines new designs with fabric and fiber innovations, namely T400® technology by LYCRA® and LYCRA SPORT fiber.

In the past year, an INVISTA survey found both men and women said they would pay more for added benefits such as quick drying. It concluded such considerations as being able to go from the gym to the workplace to the bar were fueling buying trends. More than 40 percent of men want better fit, while more than 70 percent of women surveyed wear their black workout leggings when hanging out.

INVISTA worked with Manufacture New York to streamline its process, from concept to customer. MNY is also working on the next generation of wearable technology.
