What's New? | April 1, 2015 | By:

VivaLnk Inc. has developed the eSkin™ Thermometer, which uses the company’s eSkin™ technology to enable complex electronic circuitry with embedded tiny sensors on a thin, flexible, stretchable material that adheres to the skin. Using an NFC chip solution from NXP Semiconductors, paired with the temperature sensing technology, the electronic patch can measure temperature accurately—without a battery.

Designed specifically for infants and children and described as “kid-friendly,” the wearable thermometer connects wirelessly with smartphones and the Cloud to provide data on vital body function. The adhesive on the tattoo will ordinarily last five days on the body and has been tested for safety even with sensitive skin types. Deliver of the product to its first customers is expected in June 2015.

VivaLnk was founded in 2014 by a team with experience in flexible electronics, material processing and system/IC design. The company has filed numerous fundamental eSkin™ processing and device structure patents. It has locations in Santa Clara, Calif., and Hangzhou, China.
