Textum Weaving Inc., Belmont, N.C., has acquired Crawford Textile Fabrications LLC and has obtained exclusive licensing to Crawford’s patents and patent-pending technologies. The acquisition adds 3D weaving and braiding, and warp knitting to Textum’s existing technical manufacturing capabilities: unidirectional (UD) constructions, 2D wovens, 2.5D (adjacent ply interlock), 3D preforms, knitting and braiding.
Textum is a manufacturer of engineered specialty and technical fabrics constructed from carbon, metal, glass, polymer and ceramic fibers. It is focused on solutions for product designers, fabricators of composite structures and manufacturers demanding the most technologically advanced fabrics.
