SigNature T DNA textiles program initiated by Crypton

Industry News | January 21, 2015 | By:

Applied DNA Sciences of Stony Brook, N.Y., provider of DNA-based anticounterfeiting technology and product-authentication solutions, has announced that its SigNature T DNA textile marking and authentication program has been initiated by performance textile maker Crypton Companies of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. SigNature T DNA will provide Crypton with assurance the original ingredients or raw materials it uses are verified in finished products.

With more than 120 million yards of performance fabrics installed in hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, healthcare facilities and other heavy-traffic applications, Crypton distributes its performance textiles and related products through more than 50 U.S. distributors and major distributors worldwide. Using a patented process, Crypton’s performance textile solutions are stain, water and bacteria resistant.

The agreement will enable Crypton to mark its fabrics with SigNature T DNA, and submit samples for authentication based on an annual volume-based commitment. The partnership brings new technology to performance textiles, and provides supply chain traceability and transparency.

Applied DNA Sciences provides botanical-DNA-based security and authentication solutions and services that can help protect products, brands, entire supply chains and intellectual property from theft, counterfeiting, fraud and diversion.
