New York City designer Adam Harvey says he “researches and develops art about privacy and counter-surveillance technologies.” His OFF Pocket, successfully launched on Kickstarter in 2013, is a privacy accessory for mobile phones that blocks all wireless signals from reaching the phone, shielding it from tracking or eavesdropping.

His line of Stealth Wear goes one leap further with burqas, hoodies and shirts that can confuse surveillance cameras that capture heat signatures. Inspired by society’s mounting concerns over privacy, the designer presented the collection, building on the Islamic principle of keeping a layer between mankind and God. With a high-tech silver lining, the garments hide the wearer from being seen by drone crafts (unmanned aircraft collecting surveillance footage of an area).

Made in collaboration with fashion designer Johanna Bloomfield, the clothing line uses metalized fibers, which reflects heat and keeps the body off the thermal imaging radar that drones use. You won’t, however, keep an otherwise low profile wearing the distinctive garments.
