IFAI Advanced Textiles Conference features smart textiles track

The Advanced Textile Products Division of IFAI will sponsor the opening session of the Advanced Textile Conference Oct. 13, presented by IFAI market research manager Jeff Rasmussen. He will speak on U.S. smart and interactive fabrics markets, including military and law enforcement protective markets, automotive, geotextiles, wearable electronics in the consumer retail market, health monitoring and others. Recent growth rate figures and market projections will wrap up Rasmussen’s presentation.

Smart track presentations Oct. 14

Morning sessions begin with “Fibers of the Future,” presented by Trenton Horinek of Celliant, who will cover current performance fibers and discuss what’s to come in the rapid growth of this technology.

“Sportswear: Is Performance Enough?” is the title of a presentation by Marie O’Mahony of Ontario College of Art and Design. She will discuss important developments and drivers in advanced fabrics, garment design and wearable technology.

Chris Griffin of Celanese presents “High Performance of Thermoplastic Fiber Products” which will cover current applications, emerging developments and potential ideas, supported by several interesting case histories.
