“Brazucam” captures soccer action

Out There | May 6, 2014 | By:

The idea of “watching football” takes on new meaning with Adidas “Brazucam” soccer ball. Outfitted with six HD action cams, the ball can capture a 360-degree panoramic video—from the ball’s perspective. Custom-designed stabilization technology wrapped in leather supports the Brazucam’s cameras in order to capture viewable images.

The action cams are part of a promotional campaign for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, and the “Brazuca” ball designed for it. The Brazucam will be traveling the world with stops in Spain, Germany and England, where it joins the respective national soccer teams during their exercises, taking spherical video footage while being kicked around by the world’s biggest soccer stars.
