May 23 deadline for Student Design Challenge

The Advanced Textiles Products division of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) invites submissions to its Student Design Challenge. This annual contest was established to encourage college and university students of design, textiles, engineering and allied curricula to solve safety and protection problems using technical textiles and narrow fabrics in functional designs. The students must use textiles as a major component for a product that is designed for aerospace, medical, military, safety/protective, or other wearable and non-wearable textile technology applications.

The top award will be a prize package worth $6,000+ and includes a trip to IFAI Advanced Textiles Expo & Specialty Fabrics Expo, in October of this year in Minneapolis, Minn. Second and third place winners will receive cash prizes and publicity at the event.
