CORDURA® expands durable fabrics line

What's New? | September 10, 2013 | By:

INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand has expanded its durable line of fabrics in its head-to-toe product portfolio with CORDURA Lite Plus and CORDURA Air Flow Technology (AFT) fabrics, which debuted this summer. Lite Plus fabrics offer improved filament density and lower denier per filament for a more supple fabric hand, tighter packing in weaving with less space for water or air leakage, the ability to achieve equivalent hydrostatic results with less coating, and the ability to be packed or folded to fit smaller radius or seam.

AFT fabrics offer durability and enhanced strength-to-weight ratio in highly breathable knits for outdoor, athletic and safety footwear; durable mesh applications often found in backpacks and luggage;  as well as performance apparel, such as motorcycle and outerwear garments.

“We know that end users in the outdoor, travel and apparel industries continue to seek out products that are designed to last. Product designers are responding to those needs by asking us to develop new durable fabric technologies, and we’ve delivered on those requests with a larger variety of weaves and deniers targeted for applications from performance apparel to ultra-light packs—and even footwear,” says Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA brand and marketing director.
