ecorepel® photoSchoeller Technologies ecorepel® has won the OutDoor Industry Award at the OutDoor trade fair in the category “products of high ecological and sustainable value.” According to the company, the textile finish biomimics the natural impregnation water-repellent function exhibited by the feathers of ducks and other waterfowl.

ecorepel® – how it works

The odorless finish is based on long paraffin chains that wrap themselves spiral-like around individual fibers, filaments or yarns in a very fine film. This reduces surface tension so that water droplets and even mud with significantly higher surface tension run off. The breathability is not affected and the feel remains soft. ecorepel® is ecologically sound and free of fluorocarbons, is easily biodegradable in accordance with OECD 302 B (80–100 percent) and complies with the bluesign® standard.
