Carbtex Technology wins R&D 100 Award

Industry News | December 10, 2013 | By:

Houston, Texas-based Carbtex Technology has received an R&D 100 Award for Diamondown, a high-tech, carbon-based fiber used to produce affordable comfort-management clothing. The award is presented by R&D Magazine to recognize and celebrate the 100 most technologically significant products introduced in the past year.

Diamondown is made from yarn and fabrics containing Carbtex fiber, a flexible, bioregional, carbonaceous fiber used for clothing as well as thermal shielding. By blocking both conductive and convective heat, the system doubles the thermal resistance of any other polymer or natural product insulation. With its unique two-layer system, it features lightweight comfort and shows effectiveness over temperature ranges. Its special comfort-management technology prohibits up to 91 percent of body heat loss and prevents accumulation of perspiration.

Diamondown thermal clothing includes underwear sets, sportswear, work wear and sports accessories.
