The Advanced Textiles Products, a division of the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), formerly known as the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), announces that it has changed its name to Emerging Technologies Division (ETD). The name change coincides with ATA’s rebrand in recent months.
The division’s board strives to bring programming and education to its members that represents new textile innovations and nurtures the future generation of professionals. The division’s new purpose statement says, “The mission of ETD is to serve as the principal international resource providing members with the most current information on research, best practices and innovative knowledge available to advance emerging technologies within materials, products, processes and more.”
The Advanced Textiles Association’s new name prompted the assessment of the similarly named Advanced Textiles Products Division. The Advisory Board thoughtfully considered the current and future initiatives of ATP, with the determination that emerging technology, regardless of markets served, was at the forefront of the division’s existence.
The Emerging Technologies Division looks forward to expanding its updated initiative and bringing value to its members. The industry is invited to attend IFAI Expo in Charlotte, N.C. Oct. 12–14, and the Advanced Textiles Conference Oct. 11.
The Division update meeting will be held Oct.12 at 1:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity to ask questions about the name change, the future of the division and to learn how to get involved.
