Cordura and Südwolle to develop performance wool yarns

Industry News | May 16, 2017 | By:

Functional fabric developer Cordura, owned by polymer fiber manufacturer Invista, will collaborate with Südwolle Group to create yarns that blend its nylon 6.6 fibers with wool, including a yarn that incorporates Merino wool. The yarns will be available in a range of counts and styles, and are designed to offer enhanced abrasion resistance, as well as strong tear and tensile strength performance.

“Working with Südwolle Group to reinvent a classic has offered us a new platform for growth, helping expand our portfolio to match the increasing consumer demand for the next generation of cross-functional wool fabrics,” said Cindy McNaull, global Cordura brand and marketing director.
