Auto racing FR undergarment to be introduced

Alexium International Group Limited has partnered with Benwel Inc., a South Carolina–based uniform developer, to introduce a fire retardant undergarment for the auto racing industry. The garment is treated with both Alexiflam and Alexicool technology.

The companies expect that the combination of fire retardant and phase change materials in one product will meet the comfort and safety requirements of the sports performance apparel industry. They plan to target NASCAR, Indy Car, Sprint Cup and the utility task vehicle sector.

Alexium International Group Ltd. holds proprietary patent applications for environmentally friendly technologies for flame retardancy in a range of materials. Benwel Inc., textile specialty chemicals sales company, most recently has combined green chemistry and competitive motorsports to launch high-performance fire retardant and cooling apparel.
