TeXtreme spread tow fabrics for airlines

Industry News | April 3, 2017 | By:

HAECO reports that calculation, simulation and manufacturing support reveal the use of TeXtreme may reduce the weight of the company’s airplane seats by 20 percent while maintaining mechanical properties. Reducing weight within planes promises to create savings in fuel costs for airlines.

TeXtreme describes the spread tow fabric as an “ultra-lightweight, carbon fiber product.” The specific TeXtreme part used in simulation is now in production and is scheduled to be delivered this year.

HAECO Americas, Greensboro, N.C., provides aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services and aerospace manufactured products to a broad array of commercial, government and private customers.

TeXtreme, a registered trademark owned by Oxeon AB, specializes in spread tow carbon fabrics and carbon UD tapes used in applications for advanced aerospace, industrial and sports products.
