Three new products from Beaulieu Fibres Intl.

What's New? | March 23, 2017 | By:

Beaulieu Fibres International, a European supplier of polyolefin fiber, will launch three new products in 2017.

Starting in May 2017, Meralux fibers will be added to the Meraklon product portfolio. The company’s tests showed nonwovens made with the new fiber combinations have a higher loft/bulk. The product’s coverage should provide nonwovens with softness and a closed surface, without containing additives like TiO2. The company believes these features will allow weight reductions without losing performance.

The company is also set to produce short cut fibers for hygiene application as of summer 2017. These will be available in cut lengths of 3–24 millimetres in polypropylene mono and BICO.

The company reports that the Meraklon portfolio will launch new polyester (PET) core BICO fibers in 2017 as well. The products will be made at the company’s site in Terni, Italy. It has invested 30 million euros, inclusive of a new state-of-the-art long line at the facility, to extend production capacity.

The fibers business of Meraklon S.p.A. was acquired by Beaulieu Fibres International in August 2013 and supplies fibres for hygiene, geotextile and concrete fibre applications.
