suspended-tentJapanese outdoor-equipment developer Snow Peak recently won a Japan Good Design Award for its Sky Nest “floating” tent, which is suspended from trees and off the ground.

Measuring approximately 4-by-7 feet, with an inner liner to help protect campers from wetness and condensation, the tent features a ventilator at the top to help keep cool and a shoe pocket hidden beneath the floor to keep them dry, in case of rain.

For added stability and comfort, it also provides padded sheets to help protect the bark of the trees and ropes to help secure it in the breeze.

The tent is available from outdoor gear outlets and online.
