Messe Frankfurt launches events in Africa

Trade show organizer Messe Frankfurt has partnered with Africa Sourcing & Fashion Week to include three of its events in the next edition. Texworld, Apparel Sourcing and Texprocess will be integrated in the 2017 edition of the event, which will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“Due to increased wages and growing domestic demand within Asia, as well as the AGOA agreement between Africa and the U.S., the African continent is becoming ever more important for textile production,” said Skander Negasi, managing director of Trade and Fairs East Africa, which organizes Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week.

“For us, this partnership marks the start of our textile trade fair activities on an exceptionally interesting continent that is becoming more and more important for the textile industry and whose players will come increasingly to prominence.” said Olaf Schmidt, vice president of textiles and textile technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
