Functional fabrics featuring CoolVisions® dyeable polypropylene filament have now been developed with additional benefits provided by creora® eco-soft, a low-heat settable spandex from global synthetic fiber manufacturer, Hyosung.
While the cool, silky hand, ease of dyeing, and inherent lightness of polypropylene filament brings a new look and feel to performance fabrics, the addition of creora eco-soft creates polypropylene-based stretch fabrics for active wear, competitive swimwear and intimate apparel. It also brings improved whiteness, and superior dimensional stability to stretch fabrics.
The low-heat settable spandex also results in better molding performance and less curling in the high-gauge knits preferred by today’s intimate apparel, competitive swimwear and athletic brands.
In addition, polyolefin fibers such CoolVisions polypropylene have the lowest carbon footprint of all synthetic fibers, the company says.
CoolVisions® dyeable polypropylene filament is produced in Thailand by parent company Indorama Ventures (IVL), and is also available from FiberVisions’ distributor, Reamou Co., Ltd., in Taiwan.
