New jeans stimulate skin revitalization

Industry News | March 14, 2016 | By:

The latest products manufactured in partnership by Italian clothier Calzedonia and Emana®, the smart-yarn developed by the global business unit Fibras of the Solvay Group, look like standard jeans, but feature a polyamide yarn incorporated with bioactive minerals that, in contact with the body, facilitate heat exchange which boosts skin microcirculation, thereby improving the skin’s appearance.

Emana absorbs heat from the body then returns it in the form of far infrared rays, harmless and imperceptible waves of natural thermal energy that stimulate microcirculation at skin level. Tests show wearing the jeans for six hours a day for four weeks results in visible changes. The properties of Emana are permanent and remain unvaried even after an unlimited number of washings because technology is an integral part of this yarn.

The jeans are manufactured and distributed in Europe exclusively by Fulgar, an Italian producer of nylon and covered yarns. Brussels-based Solvay is a chemical group, operating on various markets including consumer goods, building, automotive, electronics, energy, environment, agro-food and textile. Set in Castel Goffredo, Italy, Fulgar develops manmade fibers with polyamide 6.6 and covered elastomers for the textile and technical sector. Fulgar is present in many textile sectors with circular knits.
